Mayfield Short Stay Apartments provide fully furnished one bedroom units that are conveniently located close to the heart of bustling Mayfield. Available for short to medium term stays, each apartment sleeps a maximum of two people in either a king size bed or in two single beds.

Each kitchen provides all the modern conveniences for your stay, including an oven and cooktop, full size refrigerator, microwave and pod coffee machine. We get lots of feedback about how much our guests love the coffee machines!
The units have a fully-equipped cupboard laundry and clothes lines so you can wash, dry and iron your clothes without having to go to a laundromat.
The units have reverse cycle air conditioning and ceiling fans to ensure you are comfortable whatever the temperature. We don’t want our guests to be too hot or too cold.
Each apartment has two SMART flat screen televisions, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom in case you feel like relaxing in bed with some tv. A Blu-ray player and complimentary WiFi Internet is also provided.
Most apartments feature a private courtyard furnished with a table and two chairs.
Each apartment provides an off-street parking space for one vehicle.
Pet Friendly
There are not many pet-friendly accommodation options in Newcastle and we are proud to be leading the pet-friendly accommodation revolution. We know how much you love your fur-babies and that you don’t want to leave them behind when you go on holidays. Pets are welcome in all of the Mayfield Short Stay apartments that have a courtyard (which is most of them).
Mayfield Suburb
Mayfield is a suburb on the up! Many of the homes are being renovated, young couples and families are moving in and there is an increase in the number of cafes in the suburb.
Mayfield has a vibrant main street with everything you’d expect to find: chemists, supermarkets, retailers, pubs and take-aways.
The Stag & Hunter is a popular pub on the corner of Maitland Road and Hanbury St providing live music and a well patronised bistro.
One of the best restaurant in Mayfield is Barrio 2304, a small Spanish restaurant in the east end of Maitland Road. Not far away is Pork Ewe Deli which has also picked up a large and popular following.
Transportation
Mayfield is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the CBD of Newcastle, 15 minutes to major shopping centres Kotara and Charlestown and about 25 minutes to Newcastle Airport.
It is well serviced by public transport with a number of Newcastle and private bus operators, as well as being close to Waratah train station.
History of the Property
We took on the properties at the end of the December 2018 and spent the long summer refurbishing the units. We often take on properties that are already furnished but this wasn’t the case with the Mayfield Short Stay Apartments. They were empty, a blank canvas, so we had the opportunity to fully furnish them from scratch. We went on a huge shopping spree and put in brand new everything!!!
Armed with a healthy budget, we started with the white goods and electrical – fridges, washing machines, dryers, kitchen appliances and SMART flat screen TVS. We didn’t stop there. Furniture was next on our shopping list. We bought premium king beds that can be split into twin singles, which are incredibly comfortable and will ensure all our guests have a chance of a good night’s sleep. We bought new lounge suites, dining settings and outdoor “patio” settings so you can enjoy breakfast or an evening drink in the cute courtyards. The last stage involved putting the finishing touches to each unit with new cookware, crockery, cutlery, colourful artworks and lots of cushions. We are incredibly proud of the final look- which is modern, bright and functional.
We welcomed our first guests in January 2019, with a constant flow of bookings since.
